I have decided to compile one last ditch effort of 20 questions. As it is really fitting to think this whole thing started about a year ago around this time... really it was in late two thousand six, but that wouldn't make for dramatic effect.

So here it is, drum role, the final version of 20 questions for the year that was... 2007!

20 Questions with Bud Rodecker:

What is RAWR or RAWR-ing?

That's geek speak for a growl. usually in response to anger or extreme frustration. Pronounced RAWR.

Guilty pleasure song of 2007... you know the one that you don't want anyone to know about?

The Payback by James Brown.

New Year's Eve?

Not sure yet... Hoping with Emily (aka L.O.L.*) *Lyric Opera Lady

Top three resolutions?

What have you heard about Airport Express?

It's some kind of router deal that lets you share speakers over a wireless network or something, and that I want it because I have object lust for anything Apple.

Did you make that card specifically for me?

No.

Do you have the new leopard OS?

Soon.

Have you watched the demo for the new leopard OS?

Yes.

What did Santa bring you for Christmas?

Shit.

Did you go back to MN?

No, I went to Colorado and visited with my sis. We went skiing at Keystone. It was great. Thanks for asking!

Best technology advancement of 2007?

Any advancement in the field of prosthetics.

Do you use a Wacom tablet?

Yes.

Movie that just should not have been made in 2007?

In no particular order:
Bratz (http://www.wildaboutmovies.com/images_3/BratzMoviePoster325.jpg)
Wild Hogs (http://www.wildaboutmovies.com/images_2/WildHogsMoviePoster.jpg)
Hostel part 2 (http://www.wildaboutmovies.com/images_4/Hostel2MoviePoster_000.jpg)
Mr. Brooks (http://www.wildaboutmovies.com/images_3/MrBrooksMoviePoster2-325.jpg)

I know I had a camera question, but cant seem to remember it right now. Would you take a stab at answering that question?

Point and shoot.

Ok, forgive me on this one, but I was more focused on conceptual design, rather than just learning the software... like you. That being said, how do you apply page numbers to an InDesign document. I followed the help guide, but all it did was number them in the menu, no numbers actually showed up on the document. And I want to chose my own typeface and number placement, but apparently that feature isn't available?

Add it to your master page. To add page numbers in your document drag a text box and go to Type / Insert Special Character / Auto page number, or drag a text box and click Option+Shift+Apple (pretzel)+N. You can then style the type anyway you like!

Did you read my blog?

I added it to my RSS feed list but never saw a post. Now when I go It seems you have let your domain expire... wtf.

How does Publishers Clearing House work... where do they get all that money? And what do they publish?

They steal the souls of all the lonely old women who buy countless subscriptions hoping to make it big and sell them to the devil... or they just make a hefty profit off of magazine subscriptions and only give a portion of that out to winners.

Why are you sooooooooo creepy?

Because you make me that way... I miss your gentle touch Cole. Luckily I had those webcams installed

So I recently toured the print shop on campus, and the large format poster dude told me that "...the most important thing to remember is that you can't overprint white, the biggest problem I have with files is people set them up to overprint white..." WTF? I realize white is not a color, so why would it be set up as an overprint... its a large format digital printer, wouldn't it just not print and show the white paper through?

Uhh... White isn't even an option for a color in the program... That dood is wack.

Thanks for all your help this year... your technically focused education has helped fuel my concepts. Maybe someday we could come together and form one Mega-Person. I look forward to a new year, and some all new questions.

! we would be unstoppable. The world would tremble before our wrath.

Cole Benson

I refuse to answer this question on the grounds of relevance to anything holy and good.

dreams become music

25 December 2007

It seems that I have stopped dreaming again, or at least I am not remembering them anymore. Instead I have been waking up with songs in my head. I'm not sure why, or where I am thinking of these tunes but there they are... running through my head as I clear away the haze of a long night's sleep.

First one I remember is "Find Another Girl" by The Hives

The next day I woke up with "All You need is love" by the Beatles

and most recently I woke up singing "To Ramona" by Bob Dylan

There is a strange theme here. I didn't notice until I wrote them down. I wonder what I'll be singing when I wake up tomorrow!

New York Times and Thirst join to dominate the world

Rick got the opportunity to design this past Sunday's Op-Ed (sp?) section of the New York Times, which means I got to work on some of it!

I worked on the "lolcat" flashcard by adding the tail and giving the cat it's electric fur, redrew the NASA logo, retouched the flash cards, and retouched my nose pencil sharpener!

How's that for Exposure!?

A Happy Place

02 December 2007

Today I went to one of my new favorite places.

The Golden Nugget.

Breakfast food all day served in a vintage 1060's atmosphere, and a hostess with a southern accent! How can you beat that!? I got the french toast combo (which our waitress recommended), and my Mom got a denver omelet with pancakes. Did I mention my Mom came down to Chicago for the weekend? Oh yeah, she did... anywho. The french toast was just good old fashioned french toast, my Mom's denver omelet was amazing, and the pancakes were an inch thick! What a great weekend and what a great place I now know about right by my house!

Who has two thumbs and is a happy camper?

This guy.
